CHAIRMAN
Patrick A. W. Silvera, CLU has been a financial professional with AXA Advisors, LLC since October 1978. First in Washington, DC, where he worked mainly with Small Business Owners and Professionals, then in Atlanta, GA. He was promoted to Vice President after 20 months and had the responsibility of recruiting, training and developing new associates He has received numerous awards and recognitions. Mr. Silvera received his Master's degree from Auburn University. He currently holds several NASD series and Life and Health Insurance licenses. Mr. Silvera and his wife Judith have two sons and live in Atlanta. He is a member of First Baptist Church.

VICE CHAIRMAN
Rashid "Roc" Shabazz Rashid “Roc” Shabazz is an accomplished and highly decorated athlete. He received his Pro card at the 2004 NPC Nationals. This accomplishment solidified his dream of bodybuilding, and branded him “The Real Roc.” He owns and operates the Fitness Pros Wellness Center in Atlanta. Roc has used his acute knowledge of anatomy to create training programs for professional bodybuilders, figure and fitness athletes as well as, comprehensive programs for NFL players. He also is committed to educating people on the importance of health and wellness. Spanning over two decades Roc Shabazz has proven himself to be more than a bodybuilder. He is a trainer, nutritional consultant, motivational speaker, radio personality and business owner. His motto is, “If it was easy everybody would be doing it.”

TREASURER
Lorna Simmonds Lorna Simmonds graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northern Virginia Community College with a diploma in Business Technology. She is currently a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Lorna has over 25 years of experience in the Finance Industry including Price Waterhouse, and the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign that raises millions of dollars each year to support eligible non-profit organizations that promote health and human service benefits throughout the world. Lorna and her husband serve on the Missions Board of their church and are both actively involved in missions in Kenya, where they lived for two years.

PRESIDENT
Donovan W. Christie, MD, is board certified in Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Anti-Aging Association (4A). Dr. Christie is a graduate of Fordham University in New York and Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He completed a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Columbia University in New York City. After working with Insurance companies in a corporate administrative capacity, he returned to his passion – preventive health and healing. Dr. Christie and his wife Jacqueline started Anwan Wellness Medical Center in 1998, there are currently 2 locations with plans for a third. He also is the Founder of the Picture of Health Foundation, Inc.

BOARD MEMBERS
Bernadine H. Layne has over 30 years’ experience as an attorney. After receiving her JD from Harvard Law School, she worked for the City of Boston for several years. She and her husband Edward Layne, MD moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1980, where they both practice their respective disciplines. Mrs. Layne has always been active in the community in which she lives, championing for the underserved. Her focus is now on Immigration and Family Law.

Marilyn B. Franklin is an ordained minister and a Candidate for the Degree Doctor in Ministry for expected completion in May 2012. She is fully committed to the service of people, and has a passion for helping women achieve positive self-esteem. She has taught workshops, trained volunteers, led Bible study groups and hosted a radio broadcast “Mornings with Marilyn.” She owns Color Me Beautiful, a makeup kiosk in South DeKalb Mall in Georgia.
