Donovan W. Christie, MD, MS, CPE
Dr. Christie is board certified in Internal Medicine, Preventive Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Christie is a graduate of Fordham University in New York and Albert Einstein School of Medicine. He completed a combined residency program in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Columbia University in New York City. He has a Masters Degree in Preventive/Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is President of the Picture of Health Foundation.
Dr. Christie founded Anwan Wellness in 1998, when he had a change in attitude towards his health and that of his mother. Anwan Wellness Medical Centers emphasize lifestyle changes as the primary way to treat and prevent disease. Every patient should be taught that good health depends on the triad of good nutrition, adequate exercise and relaxation in a spiritual sense.
Edward Layne, MD
Dr. Layne is a graduate of Harvard College and Tulane Medical School. He completed post graduate training in Internal Medicine at Harvard Medical School and in Gastroenterology at the Washington Hospital Medical Center and the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Layne was the first black specialist in Gastroenterology to settle in the Atlanta area. For the past 25 years, his practice in Atlanta has focused on Digestive Diseases, Colon cancer screening and the role of Nutrition in Cancer prevention. He has been a long-time proponent of “Preventive” Medicine and is excited to be working with Dr. Christie and the Anwan Wellness Medical Centers.
Jacqueline D. Christie, MSN, FNP
Jacqueline D. Christie graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a BSN in Nursing. After Graduation, Jacqueline worked as a registered nurse in the areas of Medicine, Surgery, Postpartum, Nursery & Labor & Delivery. She later received training as a Nurse-Midwife at the Frontier School of Nursing & Midwifery. Most recently, Jacqueline completed a Masters Degree in Nursing and now works as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Jackie T. Lewis RN, MBA
Ms Lewis has been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science and then from University of the District of Columbia for Nursing. She furthered her education with a Masters Degree in Business Administration for the University of Phoenix.
Her clinical experiences are various and include Medical, Surgical, Oncology and Intensive Care Nursing. She started her own healthcare agency nursing company in 2004. Ms. Lewis is currently the Director of Nursing at First Quality Healthcare. She is married and has two children.
Her interest in health and wellness comes from the multitude of patients that she has treated who are inflicted with lifestyle diseases. She believes the best medicine is prevention of disease though good nutrition, adequate activity and stress reduction.
Jason Williams
Jason Williams hails from New York. He graduated from George Washington High School majoring in French and Biology. He then attended the New York Institute of Technology where he was a Fine Arts Major. Mr. Williams’ father followed an unhealthy lifestyle and died while Jason was still young. Mr. Williams vowed he would not follow the same path as his father and began his quest to study and follow a healthy lifestyle.
Jason Williams began studying Nutrition Science in 1988 with Nutrition Science. In 1994 he began studying Herbology, which eventually led to the studying of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine. Mr. Williams began studying Homeopathic Medicine in 1996. This training prepared him for employment in 3 different health food stores in New York City and then with 3 different health food stores in Georgia.
Mr. Williams received certification from Boericke & Tafel in 2001 after successfully completing their Retail Homeopathic Training Course. I have also been certified by the ABC (the American Botanical Council) in 2005. Mr. Williams is currently enrolled in the Professional Career Development Institute where he is working toward a degree in Nutrition.
Honorable Rashida Owens Oliver
Judge Oliver serves on a daily basis as the Chief Municipal Court Judge in the City of East Point where she oversees three other judges and its supportive staff. Her primary focus in life, work and ministry is toward improving the community with a focus on women and children as a basis for supporting and strengthening the family unit. She is happily married with six children.
She wants her life to be a testimony of how great God is and how He can use her to inspire others to reach for their dreams while maintaining the integrity and example God desires of us. She is a product of the Atlanta Public School System and received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Paine College. In 1994, she received a Juris Doctorate Degree from Georgia State University College of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia that same year.
Judge Oliver serves her community as Chairperson of the board of directors for B-Moe Positive, a troubled youth intervention non-profit organization. She is a founding member of For Sisters Oasis Outreach Ministries, designed to reach and enlighten women through seminars in health, finance, spirituality and emotional stability.
Arlette Shea Stringer
Shea Stringer graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education/English where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. She had the desire to help change the world. Ms. Stringer now works at the Bank of North Georgia as a Commercial Banker. She previously worked at SunTrust Bank as a Business Banker where she helped clients for 7 years. She possesses a great deal of enthusiasm and energy. In her current position she is able to help people make their dreams a reality.
Shea is the Chair Person for Kiwanis in Suwanee, GA, and volunteers with the Foster Children Foundation, and Good News Ministry.
Ms. Stringer has a deep and personal interest in fighting childhood obesity. Her oldest daughter was not taught a healthy lifestyle when she was young and is now fighting childhood obesity. Shea has managed to teach her youngest two children how to live a healthy lifestyle. She has joined the board of Picture of Health not as just another board to sit on, but as a personal endeavor for her family and herself. She has a personal mission to rid the trend of obesity, by teaching children healthy eating and social habits.
